Nothing could be easier than setting up a Second Life account... and it is free! Here are some tips.
1. Go to the Second Life website and look at the top right corner for the ‘Join’ link.
2. Click the link and follow the simple instructions to set up your account.
3. You will be asked to invent a name for the Second Life avatar to represent you ‘in-world’. You may choose any first name you wish but the second name must be selected from a drop down list. Be aware that the name you choose may not be changed afterwards so, choose wisely.
4. You will also need to provide an active email address.
5. Finally, you will be asked to give your date of birth.
6. Once you submit this information an email will be sent to you.
7. Clicking on the link in the email sends you to a website to verify your account.
8. Then you click on the button to download the Second Life client. That means you download an application that runs Second Life.
9. When you run Second Life from the application it brings you directly into the virtual world where your avatar is guided through the induction to Second Life.
It couldn’t be easier.
